VEHICLES spanning many decades will be taking part in this weekend’s Classic Cars at Corbridge event.

In addition to cars from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s there will be vintage and veteran models too.

In total there will be more than 300 vehicles on parade, ranging from original Minis to classic Rolls-Royces, with a fair few MGs as well.

Commercial vehicles, motorcycles and even fire engines will be represented, plus there will be trade and accessory stands and full catering facilities.

The event at Tynedale Rugby ground, Corbridge, will be officially opened by BBC Television presenter Dawn Thewlis on Sunday at 11am.

The organisers say that late entries for the event will be allowed on the day, subject to a late booking fee of pounds 3. Spokesman John Pearce of organisers MG Northumbria, says: “Proceeds will go to the Priory Special Needs School in Hexham, who will also be in attendance. Last year we raised over pounds 3000 on a wet day so with the help of the weather we hope to better that this year.”
